Codeplex.com , who will use it?

Jul 18, 2010 by Frans Thamura

We did an event (Eclipse DemoCamp) at Microsoft Indonesia, and showing the TFS as first topic, the Team Foundation Server, a collaborative development server in Microsoft World.

I got that TFS is only 400$, and we can see there is Visual Studio Explorer for Eclipse, a new thing on Microsoft. This is because any Microsoft product are extensible. Teamprise develop on that SDK and make Eclipse can work with it.

Strange thing, the product is not FREE.. u can try for 90 days, download it here

Roland, an internship student in Microsoft Indonesia, MIC guy also from ITB, show us the Codeplex. Glad that I found there is SVNBrige in Codeplex, we can use Codeplex using SVN.

But when we try to use the Eclipse Plugins for TFS, we cannot connect to Codeplex, but just plain SVN like usually.

I just see that Codeplex can be an alternative of SF.net (which we was using it), and our own GForge implementation (UGforge.gunadarma.ac.id), Google Code.

I got that there is security in TFS, and sad we cannot find it in Codeplex.

Anyone using codeplex? I am still thinking this is just for them (Microsoft's programmer)
